Help deliver exceptional care to our residents at ourAlice Ross-King Care Centre andGordon Lodge facilities in Bull Creek. As a Carer with RAAFA, you will develop meaningful relationships with our residents to ensure their needs, interests, routines and preferences are respected and met. You will be responsible for providing direct care as specified in the resident's care plan and work closely and collaboratively with our senior clinical staff to ensure that care is delivered to the highest standard!

This role as a Carer will see you:
* Be responsible for providing direct care, support and assistance to residents
* Encourage and promote the activities program for residents
* Assist residents to communicate to ensure that the rights, interests and needs of resident's are met
* Respond to resident's requests for personal care and other assistance
* Maintain resident records and information, utilising relevant systems and in line with specified policies and procedures
* Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe homelike environment for the resident
* Encourage and promote the independence and freedom of choice of residents.
As a Relief Carer, this role will cover sick and annual leave of our current staff, thereby guaranteeing a minimum number of working hours per fortnight but could see your roster pattern change from week to week.
About the Facilities:
Set on 11 hectares of land in Bull Creek, the Alice Ross-King Care Centre is a 102-bed Residential Care Centre located on the banks of Lake Howard at RAAFA's Air Force Memorial Estate. The contemporary two-storey care centre was created to maximise natural lighting within the centre and capitalise on its serene lakeside location. With stunning lakeside views and a natural parkland home to many native birds including ducks and swans, where could be a better place to work!
Or join us at our newly refurbished Gordon Lodge located in the heart of our Air Force Memorial Estate. This 62-bed Residential Aged Care Centre offers permanent, respite and secure dementia care in the dementia wing known as Rose Cottage. Offering uninterrupted views of Lake Howard and surrounded by gardens and streetscapes, this is a beautiful place to work!

About you:
* Possess a Certificate III in Aged Care or hold a similar qualification
* Previous experience working in Residential Aged Care
* Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
* Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem solving skills.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
* Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, their families and staff.

* Be eligible to work in Australia
* Satisfactory National Police Certificate (on commencement of employment to be within six months from date of issue) or willing to obtain one
* Be up to date with your COVID 19 and flu vaccinations
