This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering technical and non-technical training within our CASA Part 145 approved maintenance organisation, ensuring our engineering workforce remains competent, compliant and industry-ready.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely with the Head of Engineering, the Engineering Training & Development Officer supports the development, coordination and delivery of competency-based training programs for engineering personnel. The role also assists with on-the-job training (OJT) coordination for apprentices and engineers, manages training records and ensures regulatory compliance across the organisation’s training systems. This role may involve working in aircraft maintenance facilities, hangars and airport operational environments, which can include exposure to noisy or hazardous areas.
* * Key Responsibilities*
* Training & Development
* Develop, plan and deliver technical and non-technical training programs for engineering staff.
* Design and maintain competency-based training courses, including training materials, course notes and presentations.
* Support and coordinate
On-the-Job Training (OJT) for apprentices and engineers.
* Conduct new employee engineering hangar inductions.
* Prepare and deliver training assessments and issue training certificates where required.
Training Administration & Compliance
* Maintain and administer the Engineering Competency Training Program and Engineering Manual training requirements.
* Monitor and manage
Part 145 personnel training records, including identifying training gaps.
* Ensure training results and records are accurately recorded in the CMMS.
* Maintain the engineering authorisation matrix.
* Coordinate training schedules and liaise with external training providers and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
Stakeholder Engagement
* Work closely with: + Engineering Supervisors + Subject Matter Experts + Part 145 Trainers + Quality & Safety Manager
* Liaise with CASA and external training providers where required.

* Essential
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent.
* Previous experience delivering training to small groups.
* Strong computer skills and ability to interpret training data and records.
* Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Desirable
* Aircraft maintenance engineering knowledge or industry experience.
* Experience working with Airnorth aircraft types.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to engage effectively with engineers, apprentices and operational staff.
