Job Description Due to an internal promotion, an outstanding opportunity has arisen for a commercially astute and influential Director of Finance to join the Executive team at Strathfield Private Hospital. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a pivotal leadership role where you will shape financial strategy, drive performance, and play a critical role in the hospital’s continued growth and success. While transactional accounting is supported by our offsite Finance Service Centre, you will retain full accountability for the integrity, accuracy, and insightfulness of financial reporting—positioning you at the centre of key decision-making as a trusted advisor to the executive team. Key Accountabilities Lead the delivery, analysis, and interpretation of financial performance, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, performance, and sustainable growth. Develop and oversee annual budgets and business plans, ensuring strong alignment with hospital strategy and broader organisational priorities. Provide strategic and operational leadership across key non-clinical functions, including Patient Administration, Private Practice, Finance, Supply, and Health Information Services. Oversee capital planning and governance, ensuring disciplined investment decisions and alignment with approved frameworks. Partner closely with Corporate Finance to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with financial standards, and alignment with Ramsay policies. Build financial capability across the hospital by partnering with clinical and operational leaders to drive accountability, performance, and informed decision-making. About You You are a commercially minded finance leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. With a strong blend of technical expertise and business partnering capability, you bring the confidence and credibility to influence at an executive level and lead high-performing teams. Your Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, with CPA or CA membership. Strong financial and operational analysis capability, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights. Proven success partnering with operational leaders to improve performance and deliver measurable outcomes. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience working with large-scale finance systems and sophisticated budgeting, forecasting, and reporting frameworks. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with a commitment to a “no surprises” operating environment.
