The Team: Join a passionate and well-supported team dedicated to delivering the Older Persons Mental Health Rapid Access Service (OPMHS RAS). This specialist in-reach service provides timely support to residents in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) experiencing severe to extreme Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD). The Role: Ensure the delivery of comprehensive clinical services through assessment, case management, and individual therapies, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for clients with complex mental health issues, developing and implementing specialised treatment programs.
Act as an active member of a multidisciplinary team, offering support and consultation to colleagues as needed.
Prepare specialised reports as required.
You will need: Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage and coordinate clinical activities within a multidisciplinary adult inpatient mental health team, assisting the NUM/ADON in resource management. Specialist knowledge and advanced practice in acute inpatient psychiatry, with the ability to perform assessments and deliver specialist treatments. Capacity to undertake a leadership role within a multidisciplinary inpatient setting, providing supervision and support to staff. Refer to the Statement of Duties for all selection criteria to address in your application. Details of appointment: Fixed-term full-time day position, working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible for up to 15 months. Hours are negotiable.
Note: The selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies for up to 12 months from the publication date.
Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro-rata), with an additional 11.5% superannuation contribution.
Salary range aligns with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% may be available based on qualifications.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet essential criteria:Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse with a postgraduate mental health qualification or equivalent. Current Driver's Licence. Desirable criteria include extensive psychiatric nursing experience or credentialing as a Mental Health Nurse, and relevant tertiary qualifications.
