The Bureau of Meteorology manages and operates sites across Australia, Antarctica and the Pacific at which equipment is used in the gathering of weather observational information. This role supports the supply chain processes throughout the Bureau of Meteorology observation network. It focuses on supporting the installation, upgrading and maintenance of this equipment through the receipt, storage, and goods issue of items from a Central Location.
The diverse nature of the equipment requires a proactive and thoughtful individual, who is able to able to adapt the handling of non-typical items, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Attention to detail in the treatment of these items is of the highest importance, from the picking and packing of inventory, including completing all documentation required by the logistic systems.
Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, this role will attract an experienced professional with strong supply chain skills. Using their Supply Chain experience, the Logistics Officer (Supply) will unload, receipt, store and then distribute equipment across Australia and its Territories, as well as Internationally.
