The Red Poppy Film Festival is an international 3-day event showcasing independent films that honour veterans and the defence community, celebrating stories of service and culminating in a prestigious awards night.

We are seeking a motivated and organised Volunteer Film Festival Coordinator Assistant to support the planning, coordination and delivery of the upcoming Red Poppy Film Festival. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about film, events, and festival management.

* This role has the potential to transition into a paid full-time position, subject to performance and festival outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in coordinating the overall festival timeline and key milestones
* Assist with festival administration, including budget tracking, quotes, payments, and ticketing
* Support programming logistics (film schedules, screening sessions, venues)
* Liaise with filmmakers, judges, partners, sponsors and volunteers
* Assist with awards night planning, coordination and delivery
* Coordinate communications, schedules, and documentation
* Support marketing, promotions, and festival announcements
* Assist with on-the-ground festival operations during event week

About You

You may be:

* Studying or qualified in Event Management, Arts Management, Film Production, or a related field
* OR have practical experience in event coordination, festival delivery, film production or similar

You will have:

* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines
* Confidence working with creative, international and Defence community (military) stakeholders
* A genuine interest in film festivals and cultural events

Desirable:

* A connection and / or genuine interest in military veterans and the Defence community
