We are seeking a seasoned Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) professional to drive our organization's commitment to workplace safety. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a strong safety culture, supporting our workforce, and driving best-practice health, safety, and environmental outcomes.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor to join our organization on a permanent full-time basis. You will be responsible for providing expert advice and coaching to leaders on legislative compliance, risk management standards, and incident/injury management.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide guidance and support to leaders on identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
* Support the development and implementation of risk management strategies, working closely with stakeholders to identify and address potential hazards.
* Champion our Critical Risk Management program, ensuring its effective implementation across the organization.
* Respond promptly to incidents and near misses, providing immediate support in their management and closeout.
* Collaborate with the Injury Management Advisor to ensure accurate and timely reporting of hazards, incidents, and injuries.
* Engage proactively with employees through regular meetings, site visits, and HSE discussions.
* Support the identification and resolution of hazards within the workforce.
* Mentor Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs), facilitating regular meetings and ensuring they have the necessary resources and support.
* Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assurance activities to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
* Prepare comprehensive HSE reports, contributing to the development and review of HSE plans, procedures, and supporting documentation.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Work Health and Safety or a related field.
* Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003).
* Valid C Class Driver's Licence.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in HSE roles, preferably in a similar industry.
* Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and best practices.
* Understanding of risk and Critical Risk Management principles.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and safety management systems (e.g., SAI360 or MYOSH).
* Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholder groups.
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
