Overview Work type: Full timeSalary: $109,730 - $132,764Grade: VPSG5Occupation: ProjectsLocation: CBDReference: VG/1855022 About the Department of Education (DE) DE provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. DE provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. DE plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres. About the Division The International Education and Partnerships Division (IEPD) provides strategic advice and sector-level support for some of the DE key functions and obligations in relation to international education, the non-government school sector and the use of animals in teaching. The division develops and maintains strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders in different education sectors and levels of government and carries out regulatory functions and responsibilities under various Acts to ensure compliance in Victorian schools. As part of IEPD, the Marketing, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Unit (MSCE) responsibilities are to: Undertake marketing and communications activities in accordance with Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 (Cth), Child Safe Standards, and communication and marketing strategies to grow and diversify Global Learning and Engagement programs, including the International Student Program. Establish, enhance and support strategic relationships with overseas governments, internal and external stakeholders within the Victorian and Australian governments and other key partners to support Global Learning and Engagement goals. Support the department's international engagement in-line with whole of Victorian Government priorities, including supporting incoming international delegations outgoing Ministerial and executive international travel. About the Role This is a 6 month fixed-term position commencing on 1 July 2025 until 31 December 2025. Reporting into the MCSE Manager, the Senior Project Advisor plays a critical role in providing strategic oversight and support for incoming international delegations and outbound Ministerial and senior government officials travel; whilst contributing to a range of other initiatives within DE and with other Victorian government departments to advance Victoria's international education agenda. This includes the support of DE compliance with the Commonwealth Government's Foreign Relations Act and its reporting requirements, input to Whole of Victorian government strategies and other initiatives as required. The role is based at 200 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available. Attributes The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, have strong brief writing, project management experience and use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to provide innovative solutions to complex issues. They will be able to build and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work proactively and independently. Desirable Qualifications and Experience Highly desirable Brief and correspondence writing experience. Desirable Skills in a language or langauges other than English. Relevant tertiary qualification in related area (e.g. International Relations). Mandatory All staff in IEPD are required to possess a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for employment.
