EOI - Lineworkers - WA Ops North Regional
Join to apply for the EOI - Lineworkers - WA Ops North Regional role at Western Power. The Western Power Network forms the vast majority of the South West Interconnected Network (SWIN), which together with all of the electricity generators, comprises the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
The network operations and depots are broken down into 3 Operational Maintenance Areas: South Ops, East Ops and North Ops. We are currently seeking interest for the Operations North depots (Balcatta, Moora, Jurien Bay, Three Springs, Geraldton).
As a Lineworker you will be accountable for constructing and maintaining transmission and distribution networks. You'll respond quickly to faults to minimise disruptions, deliver high-quality work, and adapt to evolving industry standards. Working in various conditions, you will plan and execute tasks safely and efficiently while maintaining positive customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Attending and rectifying faults in a timely manner to ensure minimal loss of supply and less disruption to the customer.
- Complete allocated construction and maintenance work to Western Power standards, ensuring consistent quality across the network.
- Maintain and enhance core Line skills with changing industry standards and business requirements.
- Participate in pre-job planning to identify risks, hazards and task variables and control measures to ensure safe, reliable and affordable job completion.
- Work in environmental elements to complete jobs, subject to adequate safety and control measures being implemented.
- Uphold good customer relations when working in the field, especially where there is direct contact with the public.
Qualifications
- Certificate III in ESI - Power System Distribution Overhead or equivalent, or
- New Zealand Electricity Supply (Distribution) Minimum Level 4.
- Valid WA HR Class Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated industry experience in the construction and maintenance of the distribution electricity network.
- HOU and LOU Switching is highly regarded but not essential.
