About the business and the role
HardRok Engineering based in Mount Isa Qld, is a privately owned and operated Steel Fabrication & Rubber Lining Specialist, servicing the Mining Industry around the Northwest Queensland, and Northern Territory. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming group.
The role is based in Mount Isa, and it is our policy to hire locally in the first instance, however if this is not possible, we will look at other options.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The successful candidate must have highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst:
* Determining full scope and requirements from Clients, discussing points of clarification.
* Compile, submit and negotiate tenders and requests for Quotes
* Liaise with team members including Management and Workshop
* Establish a method of execution of the job
* Manage the engagement and performance of external suppliers and contractors
* Ensure compliance to projects, procurement and risk mitigation procedures
* Promote and encourage the use of continuous improvement concepts in the workplace
* Arrange Site Visits / Meetings with clients
Skills and experience
* Integrity with a strong work ethic, proactive attitude, engendering a positive workplace culture, and good time management skills, able to meet strict deadlines.
* Cert III Fabrication, Trade, or Associate Diploma qualifications in the approved discipline
* Manufacturing experience (knowledge of and experience with relevant Australian and other industry standards)
* Experience in a similar Estimating role, a sound record of achievement & proven track record
* High level drawing interpretation and material take off ability
* Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner
* Understanding current market prices
* Experience in excel, AutoCAD and other estimating tools.
