About The Role

The key responsibilities of this position is to lead and manage the daily operations of the MNCLHD Research Unit of the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) in accordance with health service policies, Research & Knowledge Translation and Clinical Trial strategies and operational plans. The District Manager Research Operations is responsible for the provision of strategic and operational direction and support, ongoing research service development and managerial direction of the MNCLHD Research Unit. The Research Unit encompasses the Research Governance Office, research support and the District Library Service.

The District Manager Research Operations will guide and support the MNCLHD to build on the research capacity, capability and culture by developing, promoting and implementing new programs and frameworks.

The position will provide high level operational advice to the MNCLHD Director, Research and Knowledge Translation, Executive Leadership Team and key stakeholders on the development and implementation of research capacity building programs and state-wide and national initiatives relating to research.

The MNCLHD Research Unit supports the MNCLHD in its research performance and profile by efficient and effective research strategy, operations, ethics and governance, and the provision of high level administrative and infrastructure research support activities.

This is a temporary part time role based at Port Macquarie Community Health.


About You

You bring extensive knowledge and experience in your field, gained within a large and diverse service industry organisation, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent expertise and you have developed a strong professional foundation that enables you to operate confidently at a senior level. Your leadership and management capability is well established, with a proven ability to guide teams, drive performance and support organisational priorities.

You are an exceptional communicator, skilled in interpersonal, verbal and written communication, with the ability to consult, negotiate and build effective collaborative relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. Your analytical and critical thinking skills allow you to navigate complex organisational issues, assess challenges from multiple angles and deliver well-reasoned, practical solutions.

Highly proficient in digital tools, you utilise a broad range of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, data management systems and other information platforms to support effective decision-making and service delivery. With a current driver's licence and the flexibility to travel as required, you are adaptable, reliable and committed to contributing to high-quality outcomes across the organisation.
