About you
We are seeking HR professionals with a passion for Work Health and Safety (WHS), including injury, rehabilitation, and early intervention case management.
You will ideally have a good level of experience in providing HR advice to managers and employees, the ability to work independently with limited guidance, and enjoy working in a team environment.
The position and level offered will be based on your level of relevant experience and technical knowledge.
The main duties of these roles include:
• supporting the administration of corporate WHS roles including Health and Safety Representatives, Harassment Contact Officers, First Aid Officers.
• providing secretariat support to the AIHW's Health & Safety Committee (HSC) including coordinating meetings, drafting papers, taking minutes, and liaising with members.
• coordinating and attending quarterly workplace hazard inspections and assisting with incident and hazard management processes.
• providing general WHS administrative support, including responding to queries to the WHS Helpdesk, providing advice to staff in line with AIHW policies and procedures, and processing invoices and staff reimbursement claims.
• booking and coordinating WHS related services such as EAP onsite sessions, flu vaccination clinics, and occupational therapist assessments
• conducting workstation assessments, and arranging ergonomic equipment, including procurement and setup.
• drafting and distributing WHS-related staff communications, including safety alerts, policy updates, and WHS days of significance.
• supporting case management of staff, including assisting with return-to-work programs and workplace adjustments.
• working across the People & Culture Unit with a view to supporting the team through engaging with, and enabling, cross-skilling as required.
