The Role
The ABC is looking for a Researcher to join the ABC Investigations Reporting Team and put your editorial, journalistic, and research skills to work uncovering stories that matter. Support some of Australia's leading investigative journalists to produce in‐depth, high‐impact stories that inform audiences nationwide.
The Job
* Research and develop investigative stories across diverse subjects and platforms under the direction of the Editor.
* Generate original and compelling story ideas.
* Build and maintain strong contacts in politics, business, public policy, and law enforcement.
* Collaborate effectively in a team environment, meeting tight deadlines with accuracy.
* Produce stories that reflect Australia's cultural, geographic, and socio‐economic diversity.
Position Description About You
* Proven experience as an investigative researcher and/or journalist.
* Strong editorial judgement with the ability to analyse complex information.
* Excellent written, verbal, and research skills.
* Knowledge of FOI, property, business, legal, and parliamentary records.
* Ability to work under pressure with flexibility, initiative, and sound judgement.
* Commitment to telling authentic stories that reflect Australia's diversity.
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong community contacts.
