Draftsperson / Interior Designer opportunity for a commercial construction business based on the lower north shore, that are interested in hiring someone new for their design team that is interested to work on concept designs for health & commercial workplace D&C projects, up to around the $1M in value. Primary Purpose: The Draftsperson / Design Assistant / Interior Designer role is a supporting role to the Client Engagement Manager in day-to-day operations. It consists of a range of responsibilities and tasks, as well as entailing a structured learning pathway. The support is critical in allowing the Client Engagement Manager to work beyond the desk role and engage with Clients more face-to-face, and strategically work with the MD and GM on securing future pipeline works in the health and commercial workplace sectors. Overview of Responsibilities: Perform such duties and functions for the Employer under the role of Design Assistant or as management may reasonably request. Working principally as an assistant to the Client Relationship Manager. Design and documentation in healthcare practice environments, including dental, as well as workplace and other market sectors as they become apparent. Design assistance support including schemes, finishes, samples, renders, details, layouts. Site measures/ photographs, creating initial measured CAD templates. Prepare test fit plans for both healthcare, office and hospitality projects. Use software packages to prepare designs, 3D perspectives etc. Liaise with suppliers, Architects, Designers. Assistance with tenders and submission assembly. Attend meetings with clients, taking notes, minutes. Sales and marketing support including attending face to face client meetings targeted brochure/marketing collateral. Build on existing relationships within the business ensuring clients are happy. Promote the company brand and increase brand awareness. Deliver and present proposals if required. Build working relationships with new and existing clients. Attend work related functions and industry related networking events. Attend occasional project related PCG DCG meetings. Assist marketing and photography at project close out. Have empathy with the client journey. Enjoy success and be motivated by the creation in design. Skills & Attributes: Currently studying or recent completion of a Degree/Diploma in Interior Design related or other suitable tertiary education Willingness to learn Proactive thinking and initiative Sound organisational skills and time management Good communication and transparent collaboration Attention to Detail Team Working Ability to work on siloed tasks for a period of time Ability to proactively self-assign work.
