Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert advice on indirect tax and national state taxes, including GST, stamp duties, land tax, fuel tax credits, customs duties, and other state taxes.
2. Support clients with ATO assurance reviews and audits.
3. Assist in delivering tax governance, data analytics, and tax technology services.
4. Conduct research on relevant case law, legislation, and revenue authority guidance.
5. Serve as a key point of contact for clients and assist in managing client relationships.
6. Contribute to managing billing and control of Work In Progress, adhering to budgets and deadlines.
7. Assist in assessing engagement risk and ensuring quality control on assignments.
8. Help deliver in-house technical training on indirect tax issues.
9. Manage and mentor junior team members.
To Be Successful, You Will Need:
1. A Business/Commerce degree with an Accounting major or a Law degree.
2. Tax experience in a similar role, preferably with indirect tax or state tax exposure.
3. Strong communication and written skills, with excellent attention to detail.
4. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
5. A strong work ethic and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
Desirable:
1. Progression toward or completion of CA, CTA, or equivalent qualifications.
2. Pursuing or near completion of a Master of Taxation or Master of Laws (in Taxation).
3. Completion of Practical Legal Training (PLT) or admission as a Solicitor (or working towards it).
