The Outdoor Museum is internationally renowned as a living museum featuring rare trades, and programs and experiences that interpret a pivotal point in Australia's history.
In all, some 350 staff work to bring our gold-rush story to life.
They are supported by over 250 volunteers.We are seeking a dynamic Education Officer to fill a 14-month maternityposition in the Costumed School Program, commencing in January 2026.
Sovereign Hill Education delivers high-quality,Victorian (2.0) and Australian Curriculum-aligned education programs for tens of thousands of students annually.Duties & ResponsibilitiesRole-playthe strict, all-knowing, embodiment of 1850'sVictorian'Ma'am' or 'Sir'when costumed.Preparethe museum spaces for school program delivery.Delivertwo CostumedSchool programs weekly (Tuesday & Wednesday | Thursday & Friday), to become living exhibits in the Museum.Collect, analyseand respondto visiting primary school survey data.Designas required teaching and learning resources to support the program experience.Desired qualificationsBachelor of Education– Early Years, Primary or SecondaryCurrent Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)registrationChild Safety and Criminal History Checks– Sovereign Hill is committed to child safety.We want children to be safe, happy and empowered.
