Headspace Devonport incorporates a range of innovative specialist youth services offered to young people aged 12-25 in the North West of Tasmania.
We are currently seeking a Mental Health Clinician to work from the headspace Devonport site. This is a full time role (part-time would be considered for the right applicant) and will be broad-based, integrating individual counselling, case management, group work, and Intake and Access work.
Under the direction of the Clinical Lead and headspace Devonport & Burnie Centre Manager you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team
* Undertaking brief and comprehensive bio-psychological assessments to determine appropriate service pathways for young people experiencing mild to moderate mental ill health
* Provide evidence based psychological interventions, that are culturally appropriate for both groups and individuals.
* Deliver psychosocial education and groupwork to young people, families/caregivers and community groups.

What you'll need
Approved tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
* Social Worker with current membership OR eligibility for registration with AASW, Psychologist (full or provisional), Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse with AHPRA registration.
* Competence or potential to demonstrate provision of a full range of mental health services including mental state examinations and psychological assessments.
* Highly developed skills in managing risk and providing individual, family and group interventions for young people presenting with a broad range of issues.
* Ability to engage with young people and their families holistically.
* Ability to engage with relevant stakeholders to advocate and support access for young people.
Desirable
* Previous experience working in the youth mental health sector and/or primary healthcare environment.
