About The Opportunity

The Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH) employs Advanced Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This position specifically will be 0.5FTE Obstetric clinical responsibilities (inpatients and outpatients) and 0.5FTE Research per the Lloyd Cox Research Fund, with an undertaking to enrol in a higher research degree through University of Adelaide.

Responsibilities

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Research and Clinical team as an Advanced Trainee in Obstetrics, where you will be responsible for:
* Participation in the unit rotation of the Outpatient Clinics.
* Assessment and management of new patients undertaken, in consultation with the supervising Consultant.
* Review and follow up of ward patients admitted through Outpatient Clinics.
* Participation in all duties associated with inpatients, including assessment of new admissions, care coordination, management of the day-to-day progress of assigned patients in the ward, discharge and follow up arrangements, during rostered hours of duty.
* Assessment and management of acute paediatric, neonatal and/or obstetric emergencies will be undertaken by the Advanced Trainee.
* Building clinical research capacity in Obstetrics & Gynaecology

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
* MBBS or equivalent
* Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
* Clinical skills appropriate for the duties performed in the work unit
* Ability to work as an effective team member in a multi-disciplinary environment
* Ability to work under stressful conditions and/or high workloads
* Minimum 4 years satisfactory experience as a trainee medical officer in a recognised teaching hospital and some experience as an Advanced Trainee.
* Broad knowledge across all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
