Reporting to the CFO, you will join us on a FTC for 6 months with a view to move to a permanent position. The Senior Finance Managers is a highly visible, hands-on and critical leadership role in providing value-adding commercial support to the company.
This is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on the strategic direction of the business as we enter this next dynamic phase of growth. Key components to the role include:
Financial Reporting:
* Complete month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger and reconciliations prepared; with particular focus on deferred revenue
* Managing the production of financial statements for ASX filings and reporting to the Audit Committee
* Lead the Consolidated Financial Statements for the Annual Report and half-year report for an ASX-listed company, and lead the external audit process
* Prepare and lodge statutory tax returns (BAS, PAYG, FBT, USA tax, etc) and lead the company tax preparation with external tax advisors
* Lead the accounts payable operations, ensuring efficient processing, accurate recording, and timely payments
* Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Financial Systems and Processes:
* Maintain and improve financial systems (Xero, Stripe etc), processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts and financial data. Including compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Treasury Management:
* Manage cash flow projections, liquidity requirements, and banking relationships
* Optimise working capital management and oversee cash disbursements
Cost Management and Payroll:
* Monitor and control expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements
* Oversee payroll team and processes in AU, US and NZ to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Ensure Payroll tax and work cover declaration submitted on time and accurately
About You
* 5+ years post-qualified experience in a hands-on financial reporting role with a focus on financial operations, compliance, and systems
* Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, tax regulations, and treasury management
* Advanced experience in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. Experience in Xero
* Experience with ApprovalMax and Stripe is an advantage
* Prior experience in ASX organisations - preferred
* CPA or CA qualification
* Experience leading on and offshore finance teams
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
