Job Title: Indigenous Eco-Conservation Specialist
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate professional to join our team as an Indigenous Eco-Conservation Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to work on beautiful and earth-friendly gardens, implementing and maintaining rain gardens, pollinator gardens, bioswales and more.
About the Role
* Design, implement and maintain gardens on private and public properties across the city.
* Work outdoors in changing weather conditions (heat, rain, cold) and spend extended periods outside, usually 8 am- 4 pm.
* Handle heavy loads, repetitive tasks, and physically demanding activities such as bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, digging, shoveling, raking.
Key Responsibilities
* Plant various native plant species, including bulbs, flowers, shrubs, trees.
* Dig rain gardens, grade, and disconnect downspouts to redirect water to rain barrels or rain gardens.
* Lay compost, mulch, soil, and install other materials like gravel, rocks, lining.
* Perform garden maintenance, including removing and/or trimming trees and plants, weeding, dead heading, pruning, seed collection, watering.
* Clean debris, litter from residential and commercial jobs, and collect, separate, and remove weeds from worksites.
* Provide professional customer service and participate in weekly reporting and meetings with managers.
Requirements
* Prefers candidates with 'G' or 'G2' Class driver's license.
* Ability to withstand up to 7 hours of physically demanding labor.
* Adaptability to varying tasks, conditions, and locations.
* Willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
* Responsible, punctual, detail-oriented, reliable, and flexible individuals who can provide professional customer service.
* Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail.
