Business Performance Analyst – NSW Small Business Commission

Grade Clerk Grade 7/8

Duration:6 months

Location: Parramatta based role with flexible arrangements available

About the Opportunity

Exciting opportunity to join the Operations Team at the NSW Small Business Commission.

We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated person with a can-do attitude. This role provides reporting and analysis by reviewing reporting and performance needs to identify changes, solutions and recommendations that lead to better informed decision making and processes for business improvement and requires attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service.

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong communication and organisational skills, collaborative mindset and aligns with the values of the Commission.

You will use your sound written and verbal communication skills and project management principles to develop and maintain project deliverables including process, procedure, training and governance.

Your ability to compile accurate documentation analysis, manage sensitive information with discretion, and support decision-making processes will be key to your success in this role.

About Us

The NSW Small Business Commission is an independent statutory office of the NSW Government. We provide strategic advice, advocacy and affordable dispute resolution services to small businesses across NSW. Our role includes:

* encouraging government agencies and larger businesses to enter productive working relationships with small businesses
* facilitating and encouraging the fair treatment of small businesses
* promoting a fair operating environment in which small businesses can flourish.

As a key advocate for small businesses across New South Wales, the Commission aims to ensure small business needs are front-of-mind for NSW Government decisions, support and assistance. The Commission also plays an important role in connecting small businesses, councils and industry groups to vital information and support services.

The Small Business Commission is part of the Department of Customer Service (DCS). DCS is transforming the way NSW Government agencies interact with customers. We are passionate about putting the customer at the centre of everything we do and adopting new technologies to create better outcomes for the people of NSW.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Contribute to the development of reports and dashboards to support the evaluation and identification of improvement opportunities and to inform better decision-making
* Prepare regular management and dashboard reports to provide insight into programs, financials, risk, compliance and other performance areas to support decision making and inform progress against service delivery outcomes
* Monitor and prepare trend analysis, graphs and provide variance analysis to support the development of strategies and initiatives that deliver on organisational objectives
* Analyse existing systems, applications and functions to ensure fit for purpose to support strategic objectives
* Undertake qualitative and quantitative research to identify trends and assist in determining business priorities to support the delivery of organisational and government priorities
* Develop and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships and partnerships through effective, advice, communication, negotiation and issues management recommending and implementing ways to improve performance and the efficiency and reliability of products and services to ensure deliverables and business objectives are met and a positive customer experience
* Undertake projects and corporate initiatives liaising with clients to ensure requirements are discussed and best practice techniques are utilised to ensure requirements and standards are met on time and to the expected standard
* Maintain awareness of relevant issues, policy obligations, insights, challenges industry trends and practices and opportunities to recommend innovative solutions that optimise outcomes and contribute to a best practice function in line with organisational and government priorities

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Strong experience indeveloping reporting/dashboards and data analysis
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Experience developing content for processes, trainingand governance documents.
* Demonstrated experience in using technology systems such as Microsoft Office applications, PowerBI, CRM such as Salesforce.
* Capable of working autonomously, using initiative, and multitasking while maintaining attention to detail and work in a self-directed manner.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a busy, complex environment with strong organisational skills to manage priorities, meet deadlines and achieve results.
