What you will do
Under general direction, the Web Developer will:
Design, develop, configure and maintain web-based technical solutions to meet the communication needs of internal stakeholders.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of ANU's web platforms, including usability, performance, accessibility and security.
Develop and test custom modules and features, and configure existing modules as required.
Interpret website data and analytics to identify user journey pain points and inform design improvements.
Collaborate on wireframes, prototypes, user journeys and mock-ups optimised for a range of devices and interfaces.
Provide customer support, training and technical advice, including maintaining reference documentation.
Work collaboratively across digital projects, contributing to redesigns, enhancements and data visualisations.
Ensure compliance with ANU policies, standards and procedures, including work health and safety and equal opportunity.
What you will bring
You will demonstrate:
A degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience, with demonstrated experience in web development, UX design and digital communication in a complex organisation.
Proven experience translating wireframes or prototypes into visually coherent, high-quality webpages.
Strong technical capability in Drupal development, including PHP, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and version control systems such as Git.
An emerging understanding of AI-enabled and automation tools as they apply to web development, analytics and content workflows, with an ability to adopt new capabilities in line with University policies, accessibility standards, data governance and ethical frameworks.
Experience providing customer support and training, including developing and maintaining technical documentation.
Strong time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to respond constructively to feedback.
A sound understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion and work health and safety principles in a university context.
ANU Officer Levels 6 and 7 are broadbanded. Appointment level will be determined based on skills, experience and demonstrated capability.
