IMOS is a national leader in marine research, providing systematic and sustained observations of the marine environment. The data produced by IMOS is made available to the public through the Australian Ocean Data Network (AODN) using open standards and open-source software, allowing for maximum accessibility and usability for the marine science community. **Your new role**
As the Infrastructure Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the Australian Ocean Data Network's cloud strategy. You will lead a talented team of cloud engineers in the design and development of infrastructure as code, ensuring a stable, secure platform that empowers software and data engineers to excel in their work. In this role, you will also play a key role in promoting a culture of excellence and growth, mentoring and guiding staff to reach their full potential.
In this newly created role as the Infrastructure Team lead, you will:
- Collaborate with the management team and solution architect as well as the IMOS AODN team to deliver a well-supported well-understood open data infrastructure
- Lead the delivery of cloud native infrastructure that empowers the IMOS AODN to deliver a reliable, cost effective and secure platform
- Provide technical advice and mentoring for internal and external stakeholders on the use of modern cloud technologies
- Provide leadership and direction to the team and ensure they are well supported.
- Oversee and coordinate projects, replacing legacy processes and methods for the management of IMOS's infrastructure
