Position Title: Payroll Officer
Location: Sydney, NSW (Hybrid: Work from Home & Office)

Salary: $85,000 + Super + Salary Packaging Benefits (up to $15,900)
About the Role An established organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to support its growing payroll operations during a period of transformation. You'll join a collaborative team and play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services while contributing to a major system upgrade.
Role Overview This position is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 2,300 employees on a fortnightly cycle. You will also manage workers compensation processes and assist with system validation and ticketing during a payroll systems transition.
Key Responsibilities
* Process end-to-end payroll for ~2,300 employees on a fortnightly basis
* Manage workers compensation: lodgements, claims, payments, and reconciliations
* Respond to payroll-related queries using ticketing systems (Dayforce and UKG)
* Conduct validation and testing activities as part of a new payroll system implementation
* Assist with payroll reporting and audit requirements
* Ensure compliance with relevant awards, EBAs, and legislation
* Liaise with internal departments such as HR and Finance
* Contribute to payroll project activities and support process improvement initiatives
Key Details
* Contract Length: 12 to 18 months (starting mid-November 2025)
* Days: 7 days per fortnight
* Team Size: 4-person payroll team
* Systems: Preceda,Dayforce and UKG, with workarounds in place during transition
* Work Style: Hybrid (mix of in-office and remote)

About You
* Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing in medium to large environments
* Strong knowledge of workers compensation processes
* Familiarity with Dayforce, UKG, or similar payroll systems
* Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
* Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving systems
* Experience supporting payroll systems upgrades or transitions is highly regarded
