About the Role
As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will provide personalised support to enable older Australians to remain independent within their homes while positively impacting their community.
This is a casual role with working hours between 7 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening or sleepover shifts. Shift durations can start from 2 hours. The successful candidate should be willing to travel, supporting clients around Queanbeyan and nearby suburbs, with travel times up to 45 minutes between clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light cleaning
* Personal care including grooming and showering
* Facilitating community access to medical appointments and social activities
* Supporting clients with daily tasks and routines
* Building positive relationships with clients
Skills & Experience
* Passion for positively impacting the ageing community
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, or similar) is highly regarded
* Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance
* Strong communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates (must be obtained prior to employment)
Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration, to ensure client safety.
