We're seeking a Product Manager who thrives at the intersection of technology, strategy, and customer outcomes. Someone who understands how to translate real-world operational needs into viable product roadmaps — and can help shape the future of surveillance capabilities for defence and national security customers.
Your Opportunity
As a Product Manager at Silentium Defence, you'll own the evolution of one or more products — ensuring they are strategically aligned, technically feasible, commercially viable, and ready for operational adoption.
This is a hybrid technical/commercial role where you will work closely with engineers, program delivery, and business winning teams to validate requirements, guide development, manage early adopter programs, and ensure products meet market and mission needs.
You will:
Define and manage roadmaps aligned to customer needs, strategic objectives, and compliance requirements.
Build software and hardware release plans for agile product updates.
Develop business cases to support the integration of early adopter feedback to accelerate validation and reduce risk.
Support competitive analysis, positioning, pricing, and go-to-market activities.
Collaborate with engineering to translate mission requirements into technical specifications.
Feed trials results, non-conformance reports, product reliability, and operational metrics into product update cycles to drive improvement.
Balance feasibility, customer value, and profitability to inform decision making.
Lean-in to supporting the growth of Silentium Defence's processes and tools to continuously improve our ability to deliver.
This role has meaningful influence on how Silentium's products evolve, how they're adopted, and how they deliver value across Defence and space ecosystems.
About You
You're a systems thinker who enjoys complex problem spaces and real-world constraints. You naturally bridge commercial, technical, and operational conversations, and you're comfortable guiding decisions in environments where the technology is emerging and customer needs evolve quickly.
We're interested in people who can demonstrate:
Experience working in one or several of the following areas: Product Management, Product Development, Engineering, or Project Management
Familiarity with the delivery of software/hardware development products, projects and processes, including working within an engineering management framework.
Prior experience with radar systems or software products in a defence environment is desirable but not essential.
Familiarity with commercial considerations and preparation of business cases to support return on investment decisions is desirable.
Understanding of defence acquisition, export controls and product compliance considerations is desirable.
High customer engagement capability (end users, primes, integrators)
Experience working with early adopter or prototype deployments is highly valued
Qualifications & Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Eligible for an Australian security clearance (Citizenship required)
Product management certifications are desirable
Export compliance awareness (ITAR/EAR/DTCA) desirable
