St Frock is an Australian fashion brand known for its effortless, wearable pieces designed for real women.
With a strong online presence and a loyal customer base, we focus on delivering flattering styles that blend trend with everyday wearability.
We're now looking for a Product Designer to play a key role in shaping our collections — with a strong focus on fit, inclusivity, and commercial success. This is a fantastic opportunity to design with purpose — creating pieces that truly fit and flatter real women.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Buying, you will be responsible for designing ranges that are both commercially strong and deeply considered in fit and form.
You will:
* Design commercially successful collections with the size 16 customer as the starting point
* Develop flattering silhouettes that consider proportion, balance, and comfort across sizes 8–20
* Create original prints and collaborate with suppliers to develop exclusive print stories
* Oversee the product development process from concept through to sampling
* Lead and contribute to fit sessions, providing clear technical direction to ensure optimal grading and fit
* Ensure all designs align with the St Frock brand aesthetic and the Australian customer profile
Key Responsibilities
We're looking for a designer who brings both creativity and commercial thinking:
* Proven experience designing womenswear across sizes 8–20, with strong knowledge of grading and fit
* Demonstrated ability to design "size 16 first", rather than scaling from a smaller base size
* Experience working with offshore suppliers and managing remote development processes
* Strong print design capability (placement, engineered, and repeat prints)
* Solid technical knowledge of fabric behaviour, drape, and structure — particularly for curve sizing
* Deep understanding of the Australian womenswear market (25–45 demographic)
* Experience in a fast-paced, online retail environment
* Ability to interpret sales data and customer insights into design decisions
* Confident working autonomously while maintaining clear communication and timelines
Experience & Skills
* 5+ years' experience in womenswear design
* Experience in mid-size / curve / size-inclusive design
* Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
* Experience creating technical packs and briefing suppliers
* Proven ability to develop exclusive print artwork
* Strong understanding of the Australian fashion market
* Commercially driven, with a strong awareness of what sells
* A collaborative partner who wants to shape and elevate a size-led product strategy
* Detail-oriented, with the ability to balance trend with wearability
If you're passionate about inclusive design, understand the importance of fit, and want to create product that resonates with real customers — we'd love to hear from you.
