Job Title: Chemical Surface Processing Specialist
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the chemical removal of titanium stock from castings and preparation of castings surfaces to meet customer specifications.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Casting Preparation
• Measure and inspect castings prior to milling.
• Review documentation and ensure compliance with specified procedures.
• Visually inspect castings for core material, scale, sand, and other contaminants.
2. Chemical Bath Preparation
• Monitor daily lab analysis to determine if bath chemistry is within specification ranges.
• Calculate etch rate using established formulas.
• Adjust acid levels in baths to bring chemistry up to specifications.
3. Chemical Mill Operation
• Submerge castings in chemical tanks using tumblers, fixtures, and hoists.
• Monitor milling operations and adjust etch rate accordingly.
