About the Opportunity
This is not a "maintenance mode" role - it's a rare chance to shape the AP landscape, tidy historical processes, and have your work seen and valued across the business.
A growing, values-led FMCG organisation is bringing its Accounts Payable function back to Melbourne after years of offshore management. They're ready for someone who wants to step in, take ownership, and build a best-practice AP function that genuinely makes an impact.
About the Role
Reporting to a genuinely supportive Financial Controller, you'll manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process and be the go-to person for suppliers, stakeholders, and everything AP. You'll play a critical role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely processing, while contributing directly to month‑end outcomes, audit readiness, and data integrity.
You'll also take the lead on Payment Times Reporting - a crucial part of this organisation's compliance and governance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable processes
* Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently in SAP ByDesign
* Reconcile statements, investigate discrepancies, and maintain clean data
* Prepare and submit Payment Times Reporting data
* Support month-end tasks and deadlines
* Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance
* Liaise with suppliers to resolve payment and invoice issues
* Collaborate with finance, procurement, and operational teams
* Prepare weekly AP review files for the Financial Controller and CFO
About You
You bring more than skills - you bring energy.
You will thrive here if you:
* 'Know your stuff' in Accounts Payable – ideally within FMCG, would be advantageous
* Have exposure to Payment Times Reporting
* Love accurate data, reconciliations and deadlines
* Are confident in Excel, systems, and proactive problem‑solving
* Value relationships and communicate well across the business
Culture Fit
Personality matters. This team is supportive, diverse, calm where needed, and fun where it counts. They want someone curious, resilient, emotionally mature – but with enough spark and humour to enjoy the ride. As they put it, they "love a little bit of crazy".
About the Company
You'll be joining a successful Australian-born FMCG organisation that has experienced significant growth, now supplying products into multiple major retailers and international markets. They are proudly values-led, commercially minded, and expanding into new territories – including the US.
Their values centre around transparency, collaboration, courage, empowerment, and innovation – and they don't just pin them to the wall. They hire, lead, and make decisions through them.
The finance team is well-structured, supportive, and highly regarded, and you'll have genuine visibility with both the Financial Controller and the broader leadership team.
How to Apply
If you're ready for a role where you can bring ideas, create impact, and genuinely enjoy the people you work with – I'd love to hear from you.
