**About the Role**:
The PR Manager for Lush Australia and Aotearoa is responsible for telling the incredible story of our brand, products, and values that make Lush unique. As a company that doesn’t rely on algorithms, social media obsession, and traditional paid advertising, our approach to messaging is all about authenticity and building a real community. In this role, you will develop and execute impactful PR campaigns, build and maintain key media relationships, and manage influencer partnerships.
We’re looking for a passionate, kind, and creative individual to lead our PR strategy in the AUSAO region to grow the Lush community in innovative ways, while staying true to the brand we’ve built over 25+ years.
**Key Objectives**:
- Leverage PR tactics and trends to be at the forefront of conversations and establish Lush as the most talked about Brand in Australia and Aotearoa.
- Develop an impactful PR strategy that aligns with our global and local marketing goals and drives media coverage, brand reach and positive footfall and digital traffic to Lush.
- Work with agencies and internal teams to build brand awareness, drive demand, and grow the LUSH community.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Publicist**
- Partner with the Brand Lead and other stakeholders to develop and execute a locally relevant PR strategy with exciting, relevant ideas that are aligned with the global vision and also help achieve local business goals.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with media and influencers across the region, to secure impactful coverage and awareness. Top tier media contacts required, at national and regional publications and broadcast stations.
- Develop creative PR stories, pitches, mailers and activations to elevate the brand presence and reputation with media and influencers, resulting in exceptional media coverage.
- Have contacts across different verticals - ranging from beauty and consumer lifestyle publications, to business, tech and sustainability press.
- Manage and brief PR agencies in Australia and Aotearoa, ensuring they are aligned with the brand objectives and meeting their KPIs and agreed goals.
- Look for and secure opportunities in thought leadership for local stakeholders as well as Global spokespeople.
**Campaigning Support**
- Support LUSH’s initiatives in activism and campaigning for social change.
- Provide strategic advice on PR opportunities and risks related to cause-driven messaging.
- Collaborate closely with our Advocacy & Activism Executive to maximise the impact and reach of our campaigns.
**Operations**
- Manage the daily function of the press office and agency partners
- Press reporting to ensure KPI’s are met (align with Global reporting processes) and produce timely insights to support decision making
- Support in product planning, budgeting, and stock control for PR and branding needs
- Manage awards submissions
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with both local and global colleagues spanning across different business functions.
- Provide coaching for local spokespeople, enhancing their media expertise and supporting corporate communications.
- Collaborate across teams to support ethical campaigns, crisis communication, and community-building initiatives.
**Our Perfect Match Has**:
- 3+ years of PR experience in the retail and/or beauty sectors
- A proven track record of successfully managing (creative) PR campaigns from ideation to execution.
- A demonstrated ability to secure coverage across traditional media, social platforms, and influencer networks.
- Excellent oral and written communicator who conveys information naturally, intelligently, and credibly.
- Knowledge of local market trends and global alignment practices to ensure culturally relevant messaging.
- Sensitivity to ethical and advocacy-related communications.
- The ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally.
- Experience in orchestrating immersive branded events.
- Experience in managing PR budgets to deliver cost-effective results.
- Experience working in a global or cross-functional workplace, aligning local strategies with broader goals.
- An up-to-date understanding of media landscapes, influencer marketing, and emerging PR tools.
- Hands-on experience managing challenging situations with media and public sentiment.
- An out-of-the-traditional-PR-box approach, be disruptive in the industry
