Job Title:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Culinary Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare dishes according to menu specifications and customer requirements
2. Receive, inspect, and date deliveries of ingredients, storing them in designated areas
3. Maintain food storage areas by adhering to first-in-first-out standards and regularly checking stored foods for freshness
4. Monitor food preparation and serving areas to ensure compliance with safe food-handling practices
5. Rotate and stir foods during cooking to prevent unevenness
6. Add seasonings and cook food according to established recipes or personal judgment
7. Evaluate food readiness using sensory methods, such as tasting, smelling, or piercing with utensils
8. Measure and mix ingredients accurately, utilizing various kitchen tools and equipment
9. Sharpen cutting tools and equipment, including choppers, knives, slicer, and grater
10. Prioritize tasks to maintain efficient kitchen operations
11. Prepare and arrange grills and buffets for optimal functionality
12. Ensure all cooking utensils and equipment are clean and ready for use throughout shifts
13. Create sauces and curries as needed
Qualifications:
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification is required, along with one year of relevant work experience
OR
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent related field
Previous experience working as a commercial cook
