Job Description
The Coordinator Gallery and Public Art oversees the day-to-day operation of a regional art gallery, managing permanent collections, artworks for exhibitions, public art portfolios, and supervising team members. They will also oversee visitor information services in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop an annual calendar of exhibitions and events by collaborating with local, state, and national exhibition providers, artists, and stakeholders.
* Curate the city's art collections, overseeing records management, condition monitoring, professional handling, and security of collection items.
* Establish and grow a schedule of community art workshops and associated exhibitions to promote accessibility and inclusivity in the arts.
* Oversee daily operations at the regional visitor centre to support tourism development in the area.
Position Requirements
A motivated and dynamic individual is sought to lead a high-performing creative and customer service team at the regional art gallery.
Essential Qualifications
Specialist knowledge in art care and handling, plus extensive experience in arts-related programs, are essential qualifications for this position. A pre-employment medical check, including alcohol and other substances testing, is required for all positions.
