Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Manager, Risk - Commodities, Trade & Transition
You'll play a key role in providing second‐line risk oversight across Westpac's Commodities, Trade and Transition business, working as part of the Institutional Bank's Operational Risk team. Based in Sydney, this role partners closely with senior stakeholders to help identify, assess and manage operational risks in a practical and proportionate way.
You'll support the business through complex change and high‐risk initiatives, ensuring risk is well understood and managed throughout the lifecycle of programs and activities. A big part of your role will be bringing together risk insights, spotting themes and helping lift risk maturity and culture across the portfolio. You'll operate within the three lines of defence framework, providing clear, constructive challenge while maintaining strong, trusted relationships with the business and wider risk teams.
What do I need?
You'll bring a strong operational risk mindset and enjoy working closely with stakeholders in a complex environment. To be successful, you'll have:
* Experience in operational risk, compliance or risk advisory roles, ideally in financial markets, commodities or trade‐related environments.
* A solid understanding of risk governance and second‐line oversight.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise and communicate risk insights clearly.
* Confidence influencing and partnering with senior stakeholders.
* The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and see actions through to completion.
