Job Description:
The Oral Health Professional is vital to delivering comprehensive, quality healthcare in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

* Examine patients, diagnose dental/oral conditions, prescribe and carry out or direct others in carrying out appropriate treatment, or refer individuals for specialty consultation or treatment.
* Record patient-dentist transactions accurately and completely in the patient's dental record.
* Educate individuals in oral health-related conditions and promote oral health-related disease prevention.

Responsibilities:
The Oral Health Professional serves on the dental staff and other center committees as assigned.

* Prepare specific reports as requested by the Chief Dental Officer.
* Assist in providing continuing education, on-the-job training, and the orientation of community health center staff.
* Design, develop, and implement Dental Department policies, protocols, and procedures.
* Participate in short- and long-term program planning for the Dental Department and the agency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited dental school is required. Completion of an accredited general practice residency program is preferred.
">
* Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish is preferred.
* Knowledge of public health principles and practices is preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
* Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges is required.
