Kickstart or grow your accounting career with a global luxury travel brand. Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at our Newcastle head office.
This is an ideal opportunity for a recent Accounting/Commerce graduate or someone early in their finance career who's eager to learn, grow, and gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of accounting functions. You'll work closely with experienced finance professionals and gain exposure to both local and international operations.
What You'll Do
* General ledger reconciliations and month end close activities
* Preparing and processing journals and monthly accruals
* Assisting with year end audit and reporting requirements
* Processing and reconciling intercompany invoices
* Completing required statistics and survey submissions
* Providing Accounts Receivable support, including receipting
* Contributing to improvements in financial controls and processes
* Building strong relationships across finance and other departments
Who We're Looking For
* Have strong attention to detail and a proactive, can‑do attitude
* Enjoy problem solving and learning new systems and processes
* Communicate confidently and work well with others
* Are organised, curious, and ready to grow your finance career
* Are a recent Accounting/Commerce graduate (or completing your degree soon) or have relevant experience / exposure to Accounting
Bonus points if you have:
* Experience in a high volume transaction environment
* Exposure to month end or general accounting
