Council's Field Services section are on the lookout for an enthusiastic, skilled horticultural professional to help care for and enhance the turf and gardens across our high profile parks and open spaces.

Bring your energy, passion for outdoor work and hands‐on horticultural expertise to a team that takes pride in keeping our community's parks vibrant, healthy and welcoming.

Responsibilities

* Establish and maintain turf areas and gardens and assist with minor landscape construction works
* Identify and treat diseases and weeds in turf and garden plants
* Support the team to complete scheduled maintenance activities

Qualifications

* Current C Class Driver Licence
* Current QLD ACDC Licence, or be able to obtain within three months of appointment
* Certificate III in Horticulture or related field with demonstrated relevant experience would be an advantage
* Ability to work in line with our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership

Upon commencement, the successful candidate will need to be immunised against Q Fever (if not already immunised) and pass a respirator fit test before wearing a tight‐fitting respirator at regular intervals during their employment. Workers must be clean‐shaven or have only facial hair that does not interfere with the fitting surfaces and valve of the respirator.

This is a permanent full‐time role with a salary commencing at $71,190 plus 12.5% superannuation.
