We are recruiting two (2) Heavy Duty (HD) Fitters — one based in the Bunbury / Collie region (local required) and one based in Albany (local preferred; DIDO considered). Both roles are workshop and site-facing and require strong mechanical aptitude, safe work practices and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Role Overview:
We are seeking experienced HD Fitters to join two separate regional teams. Both positions will support heavy plant maintenance, breakdown response and scheduled servicing. You will work closely with site supervisors and the maintenance crew to ensure plant availability and reliability.
Position A — Bunbury / Collie (Local only)
- Permanent / long-term opportunity (site-dependent)
- Must be local to Bunbury / Collie and able to attend site daily
- Focus on civil and road-construction plant (graders, loaders, excavators, water carts, rollers)
Position B — Albany (Local preferred; DIDO considered)
- Full-time, office/workshop + site schedule
- Ideally based in Albany — DIDO (drive-in/drive-out) applicants may be considered only if they can commit to a Monday–Friday roster and be based in Albany during the working week
- Works primarily across regional profiling, civil and maintenance tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Fault find, diagnose and repair heavy diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and final drives
- Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing and plant inspection checks
- Attend breakdowns and provide timely, safe repairs on site or in the workshop
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service sheets and parts requests
- Assist with plant rebuilds, component changes and fabrication work as required
- Follow site HSE procedures and participate in toolbox talks and inductions
- Liaise with site supervisors and parts/warehouse teams to manage inventories and minimise downtime
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Trade qualification or formal apprenticeship as a Diesel/Heavy Fitters or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience working on heavy plant — excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, tipper trucks etc.
- Strong hydraulics, powertrain and diesel engine fault-finding skills
- Current driver’s licence (manual preferred) and reliable transport
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in regional environments
- Position A: Must be local to Bunbury/Collie.
- Position B: Based in or willing to be in Albany during weekdays; DIDO applicants considered if they can be Albany-based Mon–Fri.
