Are you a seasoned editor looking to lead a team and shape the narrative of your state? We have an exciting opportunity for a Northern Editor to join our newsroom in Broome.
* This is a senior editorial role that requires strong leadership skills, exceptional writing and editing abilities, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
About The Role
As Northern Editor, you will oversee four regional mastheads, including the Broome Advertiser and North West Telegraph. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Gathering and writing original news stories for print and online publication.
* Developing positive relationships with key people and organisations.
* BREAKING NEWS: Be the first to know and share the latest news and developments in the region.
* Steering the editorial direction of the Northern papers.
* Interviewing and photographing subjects confidently and professionally.
* Leading a small team of reporters.
* Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
* High-pressure work experience.
* At least two years' experience as a reporter.
* Strong writing and communication skills.
* A keen eye for detail, a head for news, and a hunger for truth.
* A sense of urgency and focus on deadlines.
* A valid driver's license.
* A passion for local news.
