Overview
Ron Finemore Transport is looking for experienced full-time Heavy Vehicle Truck drivers in the Albury / Wodonga, Wagga, Orange & Goulburn areas.
Responsibilities
* Safely and legally transport goods and products using company specified and supplied heavy vehicle to designated customer sites
* Predominantly interstate and long-distance driving
* Manage and maintain the heavy vehicle, its roadworthiness, and the security and integrity of loaded goods while driving safely and legally
* Assess the condition of the vehicle before, during and after all trips
* Assess the nature of the loaded goods and ensure they are positioned and restrained correctly per the National Load Restraint guidelines and that any temperature control requirements are within the required range
* Assess the mass of the vehicle and goods to ensure safety, legality and compliance
* Assess whether the assigned trip can be completed safely, allowing for suitable rest breaks and not exceeding relevant speed limits
* Maintain a suitable level of fitness and wellbeing to ensure fitness for duty before and during any trip
* Communicate with and assist RFT staff, customers and regulators during normal interactions and when disruption or emergencies occur
* Interact with in-cab and trailer technology to meet contractual requirements and ensure safe, legal and compliant driving and control of product
* Demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to safety
* Liaise with customers in a friendly and professional manner
* Complete all paperwork on time and in full
* Drive in a time-sensitive environment
* Refuel and maintain cleanliness of allocated equipment
* Promptly report any mechanical faults, delivery issues or delays
* Read and follow procedures and relevant work instructions
* Submit log-book pages to the compliance team as required

Skills and Experience
* Suitable experience in operating and driving a heavy vehicle including commercial driving and skills in manoeuvring a vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations
* Experience with in-cab equipment technology such as computer tablets, setting and monitoring temperature control equipment and electronic communication
* Heavy Vehicle HC or MC licence
* Minimum of 12 months good driving record
* Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical tasks to handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain logs, complete load documentation, etc.
* Knowledge to activate and engage vehicle systems including adaptive cruise control, engine braking systems and Guardian safety system
* Must be able to sit and remain alert while driving
* Must be able to enter and exit the vehicle cab up to 10 times per day, and perform occasional squatting and crouching to handle and position freight
* All positions will have some weekend work
* All applicants must be able to work to a roster
* Ability to work within an established Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) system
