Dugald River mine is one of the world's top 10 Zinc mine operations, producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future.
In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine's power and reducing emissions by 33% as part of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 750 people including contractors on a mix of fly-in/fly-out and local residential arrangements.
Responsibilities Drill & Blast Engineer: Reporting directly to the Senior Mine Production Engineer, the key responsibility is to complete drill and blast design, QA/QC, reconciliations and provide general mining engineering support to the Mining team.
This role will be based on an 8/6 roster, with drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.
Qualifications, Competencies & knowledge To be successful in this role, you will be a strong performer with the ability to lead through positive actions.
You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills at all levels and solid underground mining experience with a practical understanding of underground drainage, power, air, water, ventilation and backfill techniques.
Minimum of 2 years underground metalliferous mining experience Technical experience, especially in mine scheduling and planning, will be well regarded Practical underground experience will be well regarded Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (Essential)Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (QESC) (Essential)Manual Drivers license In-depth knowledge and understanding of Deswik solutions Key responsibilities Maintain a cost-conscious culture within the team Timely delivery of plans for customers, including reporting and document control Consistently apply Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, visions, values and MMG Code of Conduct Demonstrate behaviour consistent with MMG Minerals vision and values Contribute toward a strong team working culture within the Technical Services team Continually seek to improve existing workplace practices What we offer A competitive salary package A generous relocation package and local allowances if relocating to Cloncurry or Mt Isa Career development opportunity working for a global organisation A culture of thinking Safety First Work with a highly skilled strategic leadership team On-site accommodation at Dugald River is provided in fully air-conditioned en-suite rooms with meal service and room cleaning.
