THE ROLE
Mentone Grammar is seeking an exceptional and visionary educational leader to take on the newly created role ofHead of Junior School. This is a rare opportunity to join the Executive Leadership Team and lead the strategic direction and daily operations across our dynamic primary year levels spanning Foundation to Year 6 .
As Head of Junior School, you will lead with purpose and passion, ensuring the highest standards of learning, wellbeing, and engagement for our students, while fostering a collaborative and future-focused culture among staff and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive the implementation of the School’s Strategic Vision across the Junior School
Champion high-quality, inclusive learning and teaching practices
Lead student wellbeing and engagement initiatives in partnership with key staff
Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and innovation
Manage daily operations, budgets, communications, and compliance
Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced and inspiring leader with:
A deep understanding of primary education and child development
Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and improve student outcomes
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
A collaborative, strategic, and emotionally intelligent leadership style
A commitment to innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
Recognised Primary Teaching qualifications
Current VIT registration
A relevant Master of Education degree (desirable)
Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, Mandatory Reporting, and Child Safety training
