Research Associate in Environmental Engineering — UNSW Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Position
The Research Associate (Level A) will maintain and develop their scholarly research and professional activities through the pursuit of defined projects and contribute towards teaching and learning in the School. The position is based at the UNSW Water Research Centre within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The role reports to Professor Richard Stuetz and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop scholarly research and professional activities through defined projects.
* Contribute towards teaching and learning at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
* Collaborate with industry stakeholders and practitioners in the Australian water and resource industries.
* Undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent and applied research with limited supervision.
* Engage in dissemination of research through publications and conference presentations.
* Collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships within the School and with external partners.
Qualifications and Skills
* A PhD in Environmental Engineering and relevant work experience.
* Knowledge and expertise in the following areas: air quality and treatment; water quality and management; chemical and sensory odorant analysis; data science including bioinformatics and/or machine learning.
* Experience working with practitioners in the Australian water and resource industries.
* Ability to conduct high-quality academic research and independent research with limited supervision.
* Proven publication and conference presentation record relative to opportunity.
* Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration skills; ability to inspire and support students.
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills; commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values.

* Salary, Level A — A$91,381 to A$121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full-time
* Fixed-term contract for 3 years
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
