Queensland Parliamentary Service has a unique opportunity for an Inquiry Secretary to join the Committee Office, a collaborative team which supports the democratic process. As Inquiry Secretary, you will support committees to oversee and evaluate diverse issues and engage with stakeholders.
Operating in a fast-paced environment, the Committee Office supports portfolio committees and the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee in scrutinising government actions and shaping public policy.
We do this by providing timely, accurate research, administrative, and procedural support to committees so they can fulfil their responsibilities.
About the Role
As an Inquiry Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the work of parliamentary committees. Your responsibilities will include:
 * Leading strategic projects to enhance Committee Office operations.
 * Advising and supporting committees on inquiries and oversight matters.
 * Coordinating meetings, hearings, and stakeholder consultations.
 * Producing high-quality research, reports, and briefing materials.
 * Drafting official communications including speeches and media releases.
 * Supervising support staff and managing external consultants.
 * Reviewing and evaluating responses to committee reports.

You are a strategic thinker with a passion for public policy and parliamentary processes. You thrive in high-pressure environments and are confident in managing complex projects and stakeholder relationships. You bring intellectual rigour, political acumen, and a collaborative spirit to everything you do.
Your Key Strengths
 * Exceptional research and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues and develop strategic recommendations.
 * Outstanding written communication skills, with a proven ability to produce accurate, high-quality documents under tight deadlines.
 * Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across diverse groups.
 * Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities, including experience guiding small teams.
 * Sound knowledge, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of the Queensland Parliament and its committee system.
Highly Desirable
 * A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
 * Willingness and ability to travel interstate and intrastate as required.
