We have a vacancy for a permanent full-time Finance Manager / Financial Controller working from our West End office, a uniquely welcoming workspace that incorporates natural light, a focus on health and well-being just around the corner from West Ends vibrant food hub.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller to join our small business and help with our continued growth as we transition towards a medium sized business. An immediate start is preferred and following successful completion of the probation period there will be an option to move to a 4 day work week.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong attention to detail and the ability to be adaptable and manage multiple projects simultaneously. You are self-driven, organised, analytical, a team player and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
You will be managing the day-to-day responsibilities of running a dynamic and growing company. Your ability to communicate well with others and our external accountants will be crucial to your success.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
* Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
* Managing a small financial team with clear sturctures and processes
* Manage the month end process including inter-company transactions, the completion of consolidated management reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Monitor financial performance and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
* Manage financial risks and implement effective internal controls.
* Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
* Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial performance.
* Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management.
* Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
* Statutory compliance including PAYG, BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and Workcover.
* Oversee and manage fortnightly payroll.
* Treasury management and management of FX and contracts.
* Working with global companies around contractual distributor payments.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
* Proven experience in a finance manager role, preferably within e-commerce, retail or wholesale industries.
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Accreditation with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) or CPA Australia.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
* Proficiency in financial software particularly Xero.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* An understanding of inventory management systems will be beneficial.
* An understanding of FX risk management, global currencies, and contracts.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
* A positive personality and willingness to contribute to an effective work environment.
* Experience in managing and processing payroll.
