Job Description:
A procurement specialist is required to enhance the company's capacity to meet customer service levels. This role involves partnering with suppliers at optimal prices to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
This is a 12-month fixed-term position located at our Benalla site. The primary responsibilities include:
* Managing suppliers as the primary point of contact between the company and external parties
* Overseeing end-to-end purchase order management
* Requesting quotes and placing orders with preferred suppliers
* Ensuring comprehensive order management from start to finish
* Communicating with suppliers to guarantee fixed/best price, on-time delivery, and quality standards
* Maintaining relevant documentation for accurate traceability
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Proven ability to provide purchasing contracts to suppliers, negotiate pricing agreements, procure/supply chain management, or related commercial roles in an industrial setting
* Excellent professional communication skills with a customer-centric approach
* Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry knowledge and experience
* Sound knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Outlook, Excel etc)
* Experience in using BPCS/LX (ERP System) or similar would be advantageous
* Must be eligible for a Defence clearance
