This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026 Newman Senior High School (SHS) is the jewel in the Iron Heart of the Pilbara. The Location and Community
Newman, in the heart of the Pilbara, is your gateway to the adventure playground of Karijini National Park, with its epic chasms and pool-filled gorges. It is also home to Mount Whaleback Mine, the world's largest open-cut iron ore mine. This welcoming mining and tourism town is 1,184 kilometres north of Perth. It is a short one hour and 45-minute flight or a 13-hour road trip from the State capital.
If you are a fan of sunrises and sunsets, you can catch fantastic views from Radio Hill Lookout. Newman can be described as an outdoor adventure paradise, with opportunities for 4WDing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, swimming and rock climbing. Eligibility
