Phoenix Central Park is Sydney's newest contemporary performance space and gallery promoting genuine artistic risk-taking and unique collaborations that are as bold as the building's multi-award-winning architecture. As the singular vision of philanthropist Judith Neilson AM, well-known as the founder and owner of Sydney's prized White Rabbit Gallery, Phoenix serves as a creative beacon for adventurous artists and audiences alike.

Phoenix has fast emerged as Sydney's most vital and interesting space to connect with contemporary music across a range of genres and sub-cultures. Our free weekly concerts are highly anticipated — tickets are allocated through a ballot process to ensure equality of access and diversity of attendees.

The Editorial and Communications Coordinator plays a key role in the promotion of Phoenix Central Park and its projects. Reporting to the Senior Programmer & Creative Producer, the Editorial and Communications Coordinator assists with the marketing, communications and branding of Phoenix's live events, digital content and editorial output. This junior role requires excellent writing and communication skills, previous editorial experience, an attention to detail, and a keenness to innovate.

It is a full-time, 5-days-a-week, onsite role based in Chippendale, Sydney.

STRATEGY AND PLANNING

* Assist in the design of digital marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Creative Specialist
* Research and present free and paid promotional opportunities (including media opportunities) for event seasons, digital series and brand campaigns
* Lead and plan decisions relating to the editorial identity of the brand, in a way that accurately represents the programming
* Manage and report on budgets and campaign statistics in collaboration with the Creative Specialist

CREATIVE AND CONTENT

* All tasks to be done in collaboration with the Creative Specialist
* Create, curate and schedule content across social media channels in line with creative brand strategy and brand guidelines, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and email marketing
* Manage and maintain Squarespace website
* Build marketing assets using the Adobe Suite, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro
* Write quality and engaging content for socials, email marketing and website
* Write, send and monitor EDMs via Mailchimp
* Monitor and respond to social media interactions, including via Meta Business Suite
* Write and edit editorial content for both digital and print output

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

* Manage and cultivate close and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
* Coordinate external stakeholders to synchronise communications across multiple touchpoints (e.g. artists, booking agents, promoters, media etc)
* Work in collaboration with the Creative Specialist in growing online and live audiences

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

* Exceptionally organised and delivers projects according to deadlines
* Attention to detail with a rigorous editing eye
* Excellent writing and communication skills
* Excellent research skills
* Ability to work sensitively and proactively with a range of stakeholders (e.g. artists, promoters, booking agents)
* Keenness to innovate
* Experience in music and performing arts sector preferred
* Must live and breathe music, arts & culture
* Good knowledge of social media best practices
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

* Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent), with a focus on Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects
* Demonstrated writing/editorial experience
* Previous involvement in music, arts & culture
* Customer service experience preferred
