Location
Sandbrook, a 109 bed residential aged care facility located in Burleigh Waters. It is near the beautiful beaches of the Gold Coast, as well as several shopping centres, schools, public transport, restaurants and a vast range of health and community services.
The Role
The Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice. Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals. Your responsibilities will be to provide care and support aligned with residents' preferred daily routines with a strong focus on:

4. Consideration of allergies and food intolerances
5. Enhancing the overall dining experience
6. Assist residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences
7. Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences
8. Actively engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes
9. Use empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience
10. Promote resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect
11. Prepare and maintain dining experience areas and provide meal service to meet individual resident choices
12. Maintain accurate nutrition and diet information as required
13. Assist with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework
14. Assist with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful, you will have:
15. Demonstrated customer service skills
16. A compassionate and caring attitude
17. Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery highly regarded
18. Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded)
19. Willingness to take direction from others
20. Reliability and shift flexibility
21. Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
22. Valid working rights in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate etc)
23. NDIS Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
