About the Role
An Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator – Exports will play a key role in the smooth execution of end-to-end ocean freight export operations. You will support export and domestic transport activities, ensuring accurate documentation, seamless cargo movement, and proactive coordination with internal teams and external partners.
Location: Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Sydney, Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate end-to-end ocean freight shipments across export activities, including bookings, documentation and cargo movement.
* Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport providers and customers.
* Ensure compliance with ocean freight documentation and regulatory requirements (bills of lading, customs declarations, etc.).
* Track shipments, maintain accurate records, and update freight management systems such as CargoWise One.
* Provide customer‐focused support by managing inquiries, delivering timely updates and communicating delays or changes clearly.
* Perform general administrative tasks to support efficient operational workflows.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 2+ years of experience in ocean freight export operations, or equivalent training and exposure.
* Foundational knowledge of customs and maritime regulations and the ability to apply compliance principles daily.
* Familiarity with freight management systems and confidence using Microsoft Office tools.
* Strong organisational capability and meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a deadline‐driven setting while maintaining service quality.
* Team‐oriented, proactive, customer‐focused mindset and genuine willingness to learn and take on varied responsibilities.
Additional Requirements:
* Must be entitled to work in Australia.
* Must be prepared to undertake pre‐employment checks, including a criminal history check and a medical assessment.
