About the Role
We are seeking a workshop leader with practical, technical knowledge in:
* Trailer Chassis builds and subframe fabrication
* Hardox steel tipping bodies
* Aluminium tipping bodies and welding
* Hydraulics, fit‑up, and structural assembly
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
You will coordinate and lead the Chassis, Hardox, and Aluminium sections, working closely with their supervisors and tradespeople to ensure quality, efficiency, and safe workflow throughout the build process.
This role suits someone currently working as a lead hand, foreman, or production leader looking for the next step in responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily production across the chassis, Hardox, and aluminium fabrication areas
* Provide technical guidance and support to team leads and trades
* Maintain quality control, weld standards, and structural integrity of buildsPlan workflow, manage priorities, and reduce bottlenecks
* Work closely with Engineering, Paint, and Fit‑out departments
* Drive continuous improvement and implement better production systems
* Mentor and develop team members as the business scales
* Ensure compliance with safety procedures and shop‑floor standards
What We're Looking For
* Extensive fabrication experience across chassis, steel, and/or aluminium
* Strong welding and structural fabrication background
* Leadership experience (formal or informal)
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
* Organised, proactive, and quality‑focused
* Comfortable coordinating multiple crews and deadlines
* Willingness to step into broader production management as the business grows
